Southern Clark County

Overview

The Southern Clark County Community Network serves Clark County, which was formed in 1909 and named after Sen. William Andrews Clark, an American entrepreneur who established the San Pedro, the railroad that linked Los Angeles with Salt Lake City. Many of the towns in the network are retirement communities. But like many Nevada communities, the Southern Clark County Community Network depends on tourism to support the local economies. Due to the pandemic, tourism over the past few years decreased to alarming levels. The result was devastating to smaller towns and still alarming to more populated areas.

The Community Network will address the lack of medical services in the area. Currently, the town of Laughlin has the only health clinic. Additionally, there is a need for senior housing facilities and other pressing needs that the network will address.
