Glow House Society Community Network

Overview

The Glow House Society Community Network serves Randolph County in North Carolina, and is named after its host entity, the Glow House Society, Inc. The nonprofit works to drive economic development in rural communities in North Carolina and was founded by Courtney Alston Wilson, a sixth-generation farmer and small business owner. Randolph County is a part of the Piedmont Triad, a region of the northcentral part of North Carolina that holds significant history from the Civil Rights Movement. Randolph County is known as “the heart of North Carolina” and is known for its southern charm, mountains, and cultural events.

The Glow House Society Community Network will work with the host entity to build food hub infrastructure and support underserved growers and suppliers. Glow House Society aims to educate the residents and small farmers about the importance of maintaining healthy and nutritional habits, how to properly nurture and maintain land, how to properly secure the resources necessary for economic development and much more. The Community Network will work to foster economic development and security for the success and growth of residents. Through community outreach programs and business development projects, they will address infrastructure, workforce development, and access to sustainable food systems.
